Staying home: Miami lands 2024 commitment from local DL
Daylen Russell is staying home. The Miami Columbus standout defensive lineman will play college football for Mario Cristobal at UM.
Russell announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Saturday. He was also considering Louisville and Nebraska.

Russell is listed at 6-1, 235 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Russell is rated 3-stars, the No. 97 defensive lineman, No. 144 Sunshine State recruit and No. 1,052 prospect overall nationally. He picked up 8 scholarship offers during his recruitment.
New Miami defensive line commit Daylen Russell was a monster this past season for the state-championship winning Columbus Explorers.
Russell totaled 84 tackles, 13 TFLs and 10 sacks and was named the @HeraldSports 4M-3M Miami-Dade Defensive Player of the Year.
