The ACC will have a new home for its headquarters in 2023 when the conference relocates to Charlotte, North Carolina, the ACC Board of Directors announced.

This relocation was announced on Tuesday by the ACC. The conference’s headquarters are currently located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The headquarters have been held in Greensboro for 70 years.

“The Board of Directors is pleased that the conference headquarters will be joining the Charlotte community and is quite excited about the long-term opportunities that will afford,” said ACC Board of Directors Chair and Duke University President Vincent E. Price. “The Board also recognizes and expresses our thanks for what has been a truly wonderful relationship with Greensboro over the last 70 years, and we appreciate the support shown by the state of North Carolina to have the league office remain in the state. We are grateful to the city of Charlotte and look forward to a flourishing partnership.”

This decision is not entirely surprising as the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament has switched between Greensboro and Brooklyn, New York, for several years.

In football, the conference has also played the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte 11 times since 2010. The only year the ACC Championship Game was not played in Charlotte since 2010 was in 2016.

The league’s annual ACC Kickoff event also takes place in Charlotte.
