Betting line shifts in Duke-North Carolina Final Four clash
Duke and North Carolina will meet in the Final Four on Saturday night in New Orleans.
According to DraftKings, Duke is a 4-point favorite over the Tar Heels. The total was at 152 points on Saturday morning, but was bet up to 153 points by Saturday afternoon.
That’s a slight adjustment from earlier in the week when the Blue Devils were 4.5-point favorites. However, the line does match up with KenPom’s projected score.
Duke is a -190 favorite on the money line as of early Saturday evening. North Carolina is +160 to win outright.
Duke has covered the spread in its last three NCAA Tournament games. However, the Blue Devils failed to cover in their previous five games before the start of March Madness. That span included two losses as outright favorites, with one of those defeats coming vs. North Carolina.
North Carolina has covered in all four of its Tournament contests and has picked up two wins as the underdog. UNC is 11-5 against the spread since Feb. 1.
North Carolina has played in the Final Four in New Orleans before. The Tar Heels went on to win the National Championship both times — the first in 1982 and then in 1993. Both of Dean Smith’s National Championships came in the Superdome.
Duke and North Carolina have never met in the NCAA Tournament. This will be their third matchup this season. Both teams won road games during the regular season series.
Tipoff will be shortly after the conclusion of Villanova-Kansas on Saturday night.
