The AP Top 25 has been released.

Clemson is the top ACC team in the poll, coming in at No. 4. NC State, Miami, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest are also ranked in the top 25.

Clemson has won 6 of the last 7 ACC Championships, but did not win the Atlantic division in 2021. The Tigers are hoping for a rebound campaign in 2022 with a vaunted defense and a slimmed-down DJ Uiagalelei.

No. 13 NC State is Clemson’s biggest competition in the Atlantic. The Wolfpack return quarterback Devin Leary and have 4 defenders who have earned first-team All-ACC honors in their career.

No. 16 Miami has huge expectations and is the favorite to win the ACC Coastal over defending champion Pittsburgh. The Canes have just 1 10-win season since they joined the ACC in 2004.

No. 17 Pittsburgh is the defending ACC Champion, but the Panthers lost quarterback Kenny Pickett, receiver Jordan Addison and offensive coordinator Mark Whipple. All 3 of those pieces were replaced, but there’s a concerning lack of continuity on offense going into 2022. The defense should be elite again, though, meaning Pitt will have a chance to repeat as ACC champs.

No. 22 Wake Forest won the Atlantic last season, but the Demon Deacons were dealt a tough blow last week when it was announced quarterback Sam Hartman will be out indefinitely. Still, Wake Forest has made it to 6 straight bowl games and could be a factor in the Atlantic race again this season if Hartman is able to return.
