Clemson linebacker enters transfer portal after 3 years with program

Clemson linebacker Sergio Allen is entering the transfer portal.

Allen made that announcement on Sunday afternoon. He was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2023 and played three seasons with the Tigers.

Here’s his announcement:

Allen made eight tackles across three seasons for the Tigers. He never carved out a full role on Clemson’s defense.

Allen will still have multiple years of eligibility remaining at his next destination. He’s originally from Fort Valley, Georgia.

He was the No. 218 overall player and the No. 12 inside linebacker in the class of 2020, according to 2

47Sports Composite rankings. He was also the No. 23 player from the state of Georgia.

Other Clemson players are expected to enter the transfer portal in the coming days and weeks. It’s unclear how aggressive Clemson will be in adding through the portal this offseason. In the past, Dabo Swinney and his staff have shied away from doing so.

The transfer portal officially opens on Monday.
