College football bowl projections are here.

CBS Sports released its preseason bowl projections on Thursday morning, and 10 ACC teams made the cut for bowl eligibility. Last season, 10 ACC teams reached that threshold, but several games were canceled due to COVID-19.

Here are the projected matchups for 2022, via Jerry Palm:

  • Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Notre Dame
  • Gator Bowl: Miami vs. Arkansas
  • Sun Bowl: North Carolina vs. Oregon State
  • Duke’s Mayo Bowl: Pittsburgh vs. Iowa
  • Cheez-It Bowl: NC State vs. Texas
  • Pinstripe Bowl: Wake Forest vs. Minnesota
  • Holiday Bowl: Virginia vs. UCLA
  • Military Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. Houston
  • Gasparilla Bowl: Florida State vs. Liberty
  • Fenway Bowl: Boston College vs. Memphis

Clemson is the lone ACC team to reach a New Year’s 6 bowl in these projections. The Tigers finished at No. 5 in this exercise. They would meet Notre Dame for the 5th time since 2015.

Wake Forest qualifying for a bowl would be an impressive achievement given the medical concerns around quarterback Sam Hartman. It would also be Wake’s 7th straight season of reaching bowl eligibility, which is easily a program record.

Virginia Tech is another team that would love to reach a bowl game this season after turning over its coaching staff and a lot of its roster this past offseason. With the exception of 2020, Virginia Tech has reached a bowl game in every season since 1993.

The only teams to miss out on a bowl game per this projection are Georgia Tech, Duke, Syracuse and Louisville.
