Dennis Evans, a 4-star 7-foot-1 center in the Class of 2023, announced Sunday that he would be committing to Louisville, weeks after de-committing from Minnesota. Evans committed and signed with the Gophers before requesting a release from his NLI last week.

Evans visited with Louisville unofficially on Friday and announced his commitment 2 days later to play for Kenny Payne and Co.

It’s no secret that Louisville struggled o the court this season. The Cardinals finished with perhaps their worst season ever, winning just 4 games in Year 1 under Payne. That’s behind the Cards now, and this commitment is a good move in the right direction.

Evans is considered to be the No. 18 player in the nation according to 247Sports, ranked as the No. 3 overall center. He’s also considered to be the No. 4 player out of California, hailing from Hillcrest High School in Riverside, California.
