ESPN’s College GameDay announces new personality for 2022 football season

ESPN announced a new hire to its College GameDay crew on Wednesday afternoon.

Jess Sims, who is a popular Peloton instructor and sideline reporter for the WNBA’s New York Liberty, is joining the GameDay set for the 2022 season.

“I am so excited to join the GameDay crew because the show not only celebrates all of the on-field action, but also highlights the passionate communities that surround the games,” Sims said in a press release. “This is such a great opportunity to get back to my roots in college sports and I can’t wait to meet incredible athletes and fans and explore these campuses and cities that eat, sleep and breathe their hometown teams.”

Sims’ specific role has not been clarified, but ESPN says she will make “live, weekly appearances” from campus sites on the set of College GameDay.

GameDay’s usual cast is back in 2022, including Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Lee Corso, David Pollack and Desmond Howard.

Herbstreit gave Sims a shoutout on Wednesday afternoon:

ESPN’s College GameDay will make its 2022 debut in Pittsburgh for the return of the Backyard Brawl vs. West Virginia on Sept. 1.
