ESPN's College GameDay makes picks in Duke vs. Louisville game
ESPN’s College GameDay crew has finalized their predictions for Duke vs. Louisville in Week 9.
This is a meeting between two of the four ACC programs who enter this week with exactly one conference loss. Duke is coming off of a disappointing 38-20 loss to Florida State last week. Louisville, who is coming off of a bye, lost to Pitt in stunning fashion back in Week 7.
GameDay’s panel of analysts was not unanimous. Here’s how the picks broke down:
- Desmond Howard: Louisville
- Pat McAfee: Duke
- Steve Smith (guest picker): Duke
- Kirk Herbstreit: Duke
Riley Leonard is expected to be a game-time decision in this contest. He re-aggravated his ankle injury in last week’s loss to FSU and wasn’t able to play. However, ESPN’s Pete Thamel said Saturday morning that there’s “optimism” that he’ll be able to go.
“Riley Leonard, he is a tough kid. I think he’ll play through the pain today and I think Duke wins it,” Herbstreit said.
Lee Corso was absent from this week’s show due to a family matter.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
