Florida State, Miami make the cut for 2-sport athlete, 4-star WR in class of 2024

Florida State and Miami are both in the mix to land 4-star receiver Amari Jefferson in the class of 2024.

Jefferson cut his list of potential programs to 12 on Tuesday morning. Jefferson also told On3 that he’s looking to play both football and baseball at the next level.

In addition to FSU and Miami, Jefferson is still considering Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Penn State, South Carolina, Oregon, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Jefferson is emerging as an elite recruit in the class of 2024. He’s currently ranked as the No. 341 overall player and the No. 32 athlete in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He would be a major addition for either Florida State or Miami. FSU’s 2024 recruiting class is off to a strong start as it currently ranks No. 5 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Miami has just 1 commitment so far this cycle, but that’s expected to change in the coming weeks.

Both FSU and Miami have storied baseball programs. The Hurricanes have won 4 National Championships, most recently in 2001. Florida State owns 23 trips to Omaha for the College World Series.

Jefferson is listed at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds. He attends Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Here are some highlights from his junior season:
