Florida State and Miami are both in the mix to land 5-star offensive lineman Lamar Brown.

Brown is one of the top high school prospects in his class, regardless of position. In addition to FSU and Miami, Brown is also still considering LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Florida A&M.

Here’s his announcement:

Brown is an elite prospect and a top target for both the Noles and the Canes in the class of 2026. He’s the No. 5 overall player and the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country for that cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from the state of Louisiana.

Brown attends University Lab in Baton Rouge. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds. Brown also plays along the defensive line for his high school.

Brown’s proximity to LSU could make the Tigers difficult to beat in this recruitment. However, it’s exceptionally early in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Prospects in that class will not be able to officially sign with a program until December of 2025.

Here are some highlights from Brown’s junior season:
