Jamison Battle has landed in the transfer portal after a two-year stint for Minnesota. After beginning his career at George Washington, Battle turned into a key performer for the Gophers and was second on the team this season while averaging 12.4 points per game.

According to Travis Branham with 247 Sports, Battle will have an in-home visit with Butler tomorrow but has heard from a number of programs in the portal. Clemson and Wake Forest are ACC programs reportedly in direct contact at this point.

Xavier, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Utah, LSU, Ohio State, Indiana, Santa Clara, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Illinois, Cincinnati and Villanova are other programs reportedly interested.

For his career, Battle has averaged 14.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 35% from 3-point range. A 6-foot-7 forward, Battle also averaged 1.7 assists for the Gophers last season.

Potential fit for Battle

With Battle’s size and scoring ability, there should not be many concerns about Battle fitting in with any program. He also brings with him a southpaw shooting stroke that can be efficient from long range.

Battle also has a pair of 30-point scoring outings with the Gophers, including a career-high 39 points against Maryland in March 2022. If he is interested in leaving the midwest, Battle would bring a boost to either Clemson or Wake Forest for next season.
