Jimbo Fisher fires back at Nick Saban after cheating allegations: ‘Some people think they’re God’

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher didn’t hesitate to lash out at his former mentor, Nick Saban, after the Alabama coach made some disparaging comments about the Aggies on Wednesday night.

Saban claimed that A&M “bought” its No. 1-ranked recruiting class and also took shots at Miami and Jackson State.

Fisher promptly called a press conference on Thursday morning and didn’t hold back how he felt about Saban’s comments.

“It’s a shame we have to do this. It’s despicable someone can say something about someone, and more importantly, 17-year-old kids,” Fisher told reporters in College Station. “It’s despicable that a reputable head coach would come out and say this when things don’t go his way. … The narcissist in him doesn’t let this happen.”

Fisher, who worked for Saban at LSU from 2000-04, implied Saban has plenty of wrongdoing in his past.

“Go dig in to wherever he’s been. You can find out everything. It’s a shame,” Fisher continued. “Some people think they’re God. Go dig into how God did his deal.”
