The ACC will send five teams to the 2022 NCAA Tournament, it was announced on Sunday evening.

Duke, who won the ACC’s regular season title and made it to the conference tournament final on Saturday evening, is a No. 2-seed. The Blue Devils are one of the favorites to take on the National Championship this season.

North Carolina is a No. 8-seed. The Tar Heels were on the bubble for most of the season before they finished the regular season strong with a road win at Duke.

Miami is a No. 10-seed despite struggling down the stretch. The Hurricanes have a poor NET ranking (62) but made it into the Big Dance based on the strength of their best wins. They have road victories over Duke and Virginia Tech this season and a home win over UNC.

Virginia Tech is a No. 11-seed after winning the ACC Tournament this weekend. Without a Darrius Maddox buzzer beater vs. Clemson in the opening round of that tournament, the Hokies would almost certainly be going to the NIT instead.

Notre Dame squeaks into the Big Dance as a No. 11-seed, but will have to face Rutgers in the play-in round. The Fighting Irish put themselves in a tough position by losing to Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament semifinals, but they had a good enough résumé to get into the Big Dance.

The Field of 64 begins on Thursday.
