Hart, who played for the Wolverines from 2004-2007, looked to be immobile on the cart when pushed off the field. Both running backs Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum were visibly emotional on the sidelines, being consoled by fellow players and coaches.

Hired by Jim Harbaugh in 2020, Hart spent 3 seasons at Indiana under Tom Allen as the Hoosiers’ running backs coach. Last season, both Corum and Haasan Haskins combined to rush for over 2,000 yards and 32 touchdowns. This season, Corum has been on a tear for the Wolverines, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.

Hart would spend 3 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before being released in 2011. He’d rush for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns off 71 carries. For his career at UM, Hart rushed for 5,040 yards and 41 touchdowns in 4 seasons.

University of Michigan officials have not provided an update on Hart’s status or what caused the need for the stretcher as of this time.
