Report: Officials named for Duke-North Carolina Final Four game

Duke and North Carolina will meet in the Final Four on Saturday night, marking one of the most anticipated college basketball games in recent memory.

Officiating has been a hot-button topic for the entire postseason. Perhaps the most notable example was North Carolina’s Round of 32 game with Baylor, which included several questionable calls and a controversial ejection of UNC forward Brady Manek.

However, none of the three officials who worked that game will be involved in Duke-UNC on Saturday night. The Tobacco Road rivalry game will reportedly be worked by Roger Ayers, Bo Boroski and Tony Padilla.

Boroski is well-known in certain circles of college basketball fans. He’s officiated major games before, including last year’s National Championship Game b

etween Gonzaga and Baylor.

North Carolina and Duke have never met in the NCAA Tournament before. This will be the 258th meeting in series history between these two rivals. Both programs split the season series, with each winning on the road.

If Duke loses, it will be the final game of Mike Krzyzewski’s storied career. Krzyzewski has coached in a record 13 Final Fours, surpassing UCLA legend John Wooden.

Tipoff will be shortly after the end of Villanova-Kansas on Saturday night.
