Tyler Cherry, a 4-star quarterback out of Indiana in the Class of 2024, announced Saturday that he has committed to head coach Mike Elko and the Duke Blue Devils.

That’s a huge pickup for Duke, as well as their first 4-star or higher commitment since 2021. In the past 5 classes, this is only Duke’s 2nd 4-star commitment.

Cherry picked Duke over the likes of Penn State, Michigan State, Pitt and Illinois. He made his commitment official via his personal Twitter account:

Cherry is considered to be the No. 360 overall prospect in the Class of 2024, the No. 23 overall QB and the No. 5 player out of the state of Indiana. He stands at 6-5, 205 pounds and accounted for 26 total touchdowns at Center Grove high school last season.
