Wake Forest leads group of 3 ACC teams to make top 25 in initial College Football Playoff rankings
The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings have been released.
Three ACC teams made the cut, led by Wake Forest at No. 9. The Demon Deacons are one of six remaining undefeated teams in the nation. They’re ranked fifth amongst that group, ahead of only UTSA (unranked).
North Carolina State and Pittsburgh also made the top 25 in these rankings. Both teams missed out on being ranked in this week’s edition of the AP Poll. Pitt lost last week to Miami while NC State took care of business vs. Louisville.

In addition to determining berths for the College Football Playoff, these rankings will determine bowl bids for eligible ACC teams. New rankings will be released every Tuesday night for the remainder of the season.
Wake Forest faces North Carolina on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
