Zahir Rainer is one of the top prospects out of Virginia for the 2024 recruiting class. On Friday, he unveiled a top 7 list with a number of ACC schools in the mix.

Rainer kept Virginia, Virginia Tech, UNC, Duke and Wake Forest on his list. He also kept Minnesota out of the B1G and Stanford out of the Pac-12.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds out of Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, the 247 Sports Composite Rankings list Rainer as a 3-star prospect and the No. 15 player out of Virginia for the class of 2024. He’s also the 55th-rated safety in the country.

Rainer’s father is Wali Rainer, a former linebacker for Virginia during the mid-late 90s. The elder Rainer finished his career with over 500 tackles across stops with 3 different teams.

We’ll see where Zahir Rainer winds up and if he can become as productive as his father.
