Boston College sent a shockwave across the top of the ACC standings Wednesday night, stunning No. 6 Virginia behind a dominant defensive showing.
At the final buzzer, the Eagles had held the Cavs to 48 points on 19-for-59 shooting (32.2%) with Virginia going just 4-for-21 from 3-point range. Boston College also registered 7 steals and 4 blocks in the 63-48 win.
Makai Ashton-Langford led Boston College with 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting while adding 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. He also helped clinch the win with a late 3-point field goal.

As for the Cavs, Jayden Gardner led the team with 16 points. Unfortunately, Virginia’s starting 5 combined to go 2-for-14 from 3-point range and struggled to find any consistency shooting the ball all night long.
With the loss, the Cavs fall half a game behind Miami for first place in the ACC with 3 games left in the regular season.
