Brad Brownell announces Clemson guard will miss ACC Tournament following emergency surgery

Brad Brownell announced Monday that Clemson will be without one player for the ACC Tournament.

Monday afternoon, Brownell announced that guard Alex Hemenway will miss this week’s action. Hemenway underwent an emergency appendectomy Monday morning and will be unavailable for the ACC Tournament.

That is another tough break for Hemenway after he was already limited to 20 games played during the regular season. Now, Hemenway will have to wait and see if the Tigers can make it into the NCAA Tournament if he has any hopes of playing again this season.

Impact for the Tigers

Hemenway has averaged 6.9 points per game (5th on the team) when able to play to go with 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He’s also shooting 47.1% from 3-point range and will be a big absence for Clemson in the ACC Tournament

.

In the regular season finale, Hemenway had 3 points and 1 rebound against Notre Dame but played 18 minutes off the bench for the Tigers.
