Clemson is once again proving to be dominant on the recruiting trail.

The Tigers have just 12 commitments so far, but make no mistake — this is an elite class. 11 of those 12 players are 4-or-5-star prospects, and the class is led by 5-star QB Cade Klubnik.

If Dabo Swinney is able to bulk up this class prior to the Early Signing Period in December — or even National Signing Day in February — this could end up as a top 5 class for the Tigers. As of now, its average star rating of 93.34 trails only Alabama and Ohio State.

Here’s a full breakdown of Clemson’s 2022 recruiting class as it stands in late-October:

Class ranking: No. 2 in ACC, No. 10 nationally

Total commits: 13

Blue-chip commits (4-and-5-star prospects): 11

Highest-rated offensive player: 5-star QB Cade Klubnik | No. 26 overall | No. 3 QB | Austin, Texas

Highest-rated defensive player: 5-star CB Jeadyn Lucas | No. 31 overall | No. 6 CB | Mauldin, South Carolina

Final thoughts: This is the foundation of an elite recruiting class filled with plenty of quality. The only non-blue chip recruits right now are 3-star kicker Robert Gunn, who is considered one of the top specialists in this class, and 3-star TE Josh Sapp. It’s a potentially special group that’s led by an elite QB prospect in Klubnik and five high-level defensive backs.
