Bryan Bresee snubbed from Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest top prospects ranking

Bryan Bresee was left out of Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest top prospects ranking, which was released on Wednesday morning.

Kiper ranked his top 25 prospects, but Bresee was not named. The only Clemson player to make the top 25 was defensive end Myles Murphy at No. 1

5.

Bresee has long been considered to be a lock 1st round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He showed tremendous upside as an interior lineman during his 3 years at Clemson.

It’s unclear if Bresee’s omission is a lack of faith in him as a player or if it has more to do with the position he plays. Only 2 defensive tackles were included in Kiper’s top 25. Bresee is ranked as his No. 3 defensive tackle prospect behind Georgia’s Jalen Carter and Pittsburgh’s Calijah Kancey.

Bresee had a difficult f

inal season with the Tigers off the field. He missed multiple games as he dealt with a medical issue and spent time with family following the death of his younger sister, Ella Bresee.

Still, Bresee managed 5.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and 2 pass deflections as a junior in 2022.

For his career, Bresee was credited with 51 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 9 sacks. He also missed the majority of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL.

Bresee is expected to compete in the NFL scouting combine later this spring.
