Cade Klubnik received high raise from coach Dabo Swinney after his performance in Clemson’s big win over Syracuse.

Klubnik led the Tigers to a 31-14 win over the Orange, giving them their first ACC victory of the season. Klubnik threw for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.

Beyond the stat sheet, Klubnik made several impressive throws in clutch situations and was able to use legs to extend the play on a number of occasions.

After the game, Swinney said he was very impressed with Klubnik and compared him to a NFL quarterback.

“He just made some plays. That’s what the great ones do. Turn on the games tomorrow and you’ll see a lot of that,” Swinney said. “He’s just growing and growing and growing”

Klubnik has been much more effective since Clemson’s season-opening loss to Duke. He now has 11 touchdown passes on the season and appears to be growing more comfortable in Garrett Riley’s offensive system.

Clemson will face Wake Forest at home in Week 6.
