Clemson will ends its 2021 season in the Cheez-It Bowl against Iowa State.

That matchup was officially announced on Sunday afternoon.

These teams moved in opposite directions toward the end of the year. Clemson won its final five games of the season while Iowa State lost two of three down the stretch.

The Cyclones entered this season with expectations of competing for a Big 12 Championship. That didn’t quite happen, as Matt Campbell’s bunch suffered losses to Baylor and West Virginia before Halloween.

However, this Iowa State team is capable of playing above its 7-5 record. The Cyclones have an experienced offense led by quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Breece Hall and tight end Charlie Kolar.

If Clemson wins, it will clinch another 10-win season for the Tigers. It would be their 11th straight under Dabo Swinney, dating back to 2011.

Clemson and Iowa State have never played before.

Kickoff is at 5:45 p.m. ET on Dec. 29.
