Clemson is continuing to hit the recruiting trail as the 2022 cycle winds down.

The Tigers landed a commitment from 2022 3-star safety Kylon Griffin on Tuesday morning. He chose Clemson over programs like Nebraska, Mississippi State and Florida State.

Here’s his announcement:

Griffin is originally from Montgomery, Alabama. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds.

He’s the No. 79 safety in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings, but his offer list suggests he’s gone under-the-radar with the major recruiting scouting services. Griffin also received an offer from USC in January.

Griffin visited Clemson over the weekend. He was one of several major recruiting targets to visit campus over the weekend, so more commitments could be expected in the coming days.

Griffin is Clemson’s third commitment since the end of the Early Signing Period, joining receiver Cole Turner and linebacker Myles Oliver. Clemson’s 2022 class now ranks No. 13 nationally and No. 2 in the ACC, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

He’s one of three safeties in this 2022 class. Clemson has also added 4-star safety Jerrod Covil and 3-star safety Wade Woodaz. Griffin is also one of three players from Alabama in this class so far.

Griffin will be able to officially sign with Clemson on Feb. 2.
