Clemson CB Andrew Booth Jr. named amongst top players still available on Day 2 of NFL Draft

Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. is amongst the top players still available in the NFL Draft.

He was not selected in the first round on Thursday night, as 3 other cornerbacks went ahead of him. LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr., Cincinnati’s Sauce Gardner, Washington’s Trent McDuffie and Florida’s Kaiir Elam all went in the first round.

ESPN’s Field Yates put out a list of the top available talents for Day 2 of the draft, and Booth was at the top of the list.

Booth’s final season at Clemson was certainly worthy of 1st round consideration. He picked off 3 passes and deflected 5 more, but opposing quarterbacks typically avoided t

hrowing in his direction. He was named first-team All-ACC alongside his counterpart, Mario Goodrich.

This is the first time Clemson has gone without a 1st round pick since 2018. Over the previous 3 seasons, the Tigers put Dexter Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, AJ Terrell, Isaiah Simmons, Travis Etienne and Trevor Lawrence into the league as 1st round picks.

The second round of the NFL Draft begins on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET.
