Clemson was one of 6 teams listed for a 4-star edge rusher out of Maryland Friday night. Darien Mayo, who is rated by 247Sports as one of the top prospect out of Maryland, is the player in question.

Clemson was the only ACC program to crack the list. Also included are Ohio State, Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina and Southern Cal.

Mayo stands at 6-7, 225 pounds. He has an official visit scheduled to Clemson on June 2.

Clemson is believed to be a major player for Mayo, too. The Tigers offered Mayo relatively late compared to the other teams on the list, doing so on Jan. 23.

Mayo is considered to be the No. 181 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 17 edge and the No. 5 player out of the state of Maryland.
