Clemson defensive lineman KJ Henry is headed to the NFL.

He announced that intention on Wednesday afternoon. There had been some speculation that Henry may return to the program for his sixth season of eligibility, but Henry will instead enter the 2023 NFL Draft.

Here’s his announcement:

Henry is a former 5-star recruit who spent five seasons with the Tigers. This past season was arguably his best with Clemson, as he racked up a career-high nine tackles for loss. He also recorded 3.5 sacks and six pass deflections.

Clemson’s defensive line will need to replace several key players next season. Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee have also declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. Elsewhere in the front seven, linebacker Trenton Simpson is also going pro.

The Tigers are still awaiting a decision from lineman Tyler Davis and Ruke Orhorhoro. Regardless, Clemson is likely to have a much less-experienced defensive line in 2023.

Clemson went 11-3 in 2022.
