Clemson defeated No. 14 Syracuse this weekend, 27-21.

The win included an impressive double-digit comeback in the fourth quarter. The Tigers’ defense shutout Syracuse’s explosive offense in the second half en route to victory.

However, college football fans and media seem to be unmoved by Clemson’s win. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit moved the Tigers down one spot, to No. 6, in his personal rankings for this week.

The Tigers are now below one-loss Alabama:

Clemson is also still behind Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia and Michigan. All of those teams are undefeated for now, but Ohio State-Michigan and Tennessee-Georgia will face off in November.

Despite Herbstreit’s apparent pessimism toward the Tigers, Clemson is still looking like a College Football Playoff contender. Dabo Swinney’s squad has already racked up 3 ranked wins and could earn two more before the regular season is over. South Carolina and North Carolina are both ranked in this week’s AP Poll.

Clemson is off in Week 9 but will face Notre Dame in Week 10.
