Clemson is continuing to build its College Football Playoff résumé.

The Tigers are one of the primary contenders to make it into the top 4 at the end of the year, and CBS Sports’ panel of experts is nearly-unanimous in picking Clemson to make the CFP entering Week 8.

Of CBS Sports’ 7 analysts, only Dennis Dodd left the Tigers out in the cold. Dodd has Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan making it into the top 4. Dodd also has Alabama at No. 5, one spot ahead of No. 6 Clemson.

Dodd is the clear outlier in this case, as 5 of the 7 experts have Clemson all the way up at No. 3. Barrett Sallee currently has the Tigers at No. 4 on his ranking.

The top contenders are mostly obvious: Ohio State and Georgia appear on every ballot. Tennessee, Michigan, Alabama, USC and Ole Miss are the other primary contenders.

Clemson has a huge test this weekend against No. 14 Syracuse. The Orange are undefeated this season and have played the Tigers closer-than-expected in recent years.

Syracuse is likely to be the last time Clemson faces a ranked opponent this season until the ACC Championship Game. Even then, it’s possible the Coastal champion won’t be ranked at the end of the year.

Kickoff vs. the Orange is at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
