Clemson picked up a major commitment in the class of 2023 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Tigers landed 4-star EDGE David Ojiegbe. Here’s his announcement:

Ojiegbe is the No. 20 EDGE in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from Washington D.C.

He also had offers from programs like Louisville, Miami and Michigan, amongst others.

This is Clemson’s first defensive commitment since Brent Venables left the program for Oklahoma back in December. The Tigers have 4 commitments in the class of 2023, but the previous 3 were all on the offensive side of the ball. His primary recruiters are defensive ends coach Lemanski Hall and co-defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin, per 247Sports.

It’s still early in the cycle, but Clemson’s 2023 class is now ranked No. 23 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The class is led by 4-star quarterback prospect Christopher Vizzina.

Ojiegbe and other 2023 prospects will be able to officially sign with a program during the Early Signing Period in December.
