Williams was an important prospect for Clemson to land. He attends Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina. He’s listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds
He’s the No. 133 overall player and the No. 21 receiver in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 4 overall player in the state of South Carolina.
Williams picked Clemson over offers from other programs like Auburn, Ole Miss and South Carolina, to name a few.
His commitment comes as there’s uncertainty surrounding the future of offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, who is a candidate for the Virginia head coaching job. Elliott interviewed at Virginia earlier this week and was once seen as the frontrunner.
Williams and the rest of the 2022 class will be eligible to sign on Dec. 15 during the Early Signing Period.
