Clemson lands in top 15 of final AP Poll of 2022 season

Clemson is ranked No. 13 in the final AP Poll of the 2022 season.

Clemson dropped 3 spots after a 31-14 loss to Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. Heading into the Orange Bowl, Clemson was ranked N

o. 10 in the previous AP Poll. That loss was Clemson’s 2nd consecutive New Year’s Six bowl game loss.

Despite the loss to Tennessee, Clemson earned its 12th consecutive double-digit win season under head coach Dabo Swinney. Clemson earned an ACC Championship with a 39-10 win over North Carolina on Dec. 3.

Clemson made a decision to bench DJ Uiagalelei in the ACC Championship Game and Cade Klubnik was the starter for the rest o

f the way in the season. Uiagalelei entered the transfer portal shortly after the conference championship game.

This was the 1st season since 2019 that Clemson won more than 10 games in a single season. In 2020, the Tigers played less games due to the shortened season in the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Clemson attained 10 wins with a win over Iowa State in the Cheez-It Bowl.

The Tigers ended the season with an 11-3 record.
