Clemson is working hard on the recruiting trail after a disappointing performance in the 2023 season. That work is paying off, and the Tigers landed a major piece for the 2025 recruiting class Sunday evening.

The player is Amare Adams, a major 6-foot-3.5 and 290-pound defensive lineman out of South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina. He’s rated as one of the top prospects at his position for the class of 2025, and Adams revealed his commitment to Dabo Swinney’s program on social media.

The Tigers beat out a host of SEC and ACC competition that included South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, FSU and Tennessee from Adams’ top 7 list:

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Adams is the No. 12 DL in the country and the top player from South Carolina in the 2025 recruiting class. He checks in just outside the top 100 players in the country and is a major win for Swinney and the Tigers.

Adams joins a 2025 group for Clemson that already features 3 commitments from players with a 4-star rating.
