Clemson loses commitment from 4-star safety Keon Sabb in wake of Brent Venables' departure
Clemson 4-star safety commit Keon Sabb backed away from his verbal commitment on Monday afternoon.
This news comes just hours after former Tigers’ defensive coordinator Brent Venables was officially introduced as Oklahoma’s next head coach. Here’s the announcement:
BREAKING: Four-Star Safety Keon Sabb has Decommitted from Clemson, he tells @On3Recruits

Sabb is the No. 80 overall player and the No. 8 safety in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Sabb has visited Michigan recently, so he could be setting his sights on the Wolverines rather than joining Venables at Oklahoma. It’s also unclear if he intends to sign during the Early Signing Period.
Clemson is now down to 13 commitments in the class of 2022. Despite the relatively small class, it currently ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 2 in the ACC according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
It’s possible other Clemson commits could de-commit in the coming days, especially as Venables fills out his staff at Oklahoma. Other Clemson assistants could be following him to Norman, which would likely impact the Tigers’ 2022 class.
The Early Signing Period begins on Dec. 15.
