Clemson makes final list for 5-star DL in class of 2023
Clemson is a finalist for 5-star defensive lineman Peter Woods.
Woods announced his top-4 schools on Thursday morning. He’s also still considering Alabama, Florida and Oklahoma.

Woods is the No. 28 overall player and the No. 3 defensive lineman in the class of 2023, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 player from the state of Alabama.
He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 259 points. He attends Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama.
Woods is one of Clemson’s biggest targets in the class of 2023. The Tigers are also heavily pursuing 4-star quarterback Christopher Vizzina, amongst others.
It’s still early in the 2023 cycle, so Clemson has just one commitment so far β 4-star receiver Nathaniel Joseph. Clemson’s defensive recruiting in this cycle is behind where it would normally be after losing Brent Venables and Todd Bates to Oklahoma this past offseason.
Woods took an unofficial visit to Clemson back in October of 2021. Based on this list, it seems likely he could take another visit this fall.
There is no timetable for his commitment.
