Clemson makes late addition at running back during Early Signing Period
Clemson made a late addition at running back during the first day of the Early Signing Period on Wednesday.
The Tigers earned a signature from under-the-radar athlete Jamarius Haynes. He appears on the program’s official list of signees. Per the school, Haynes signed with Clemson at 8:56 a.m. on Monday morning.
Clemson beat out Georgia Tech for Haynes’ signature. Washington State and Western Kentucky were amongst the other FBS programs to extend an offer to Haynes.
Haynes went under-the-radar this cycle, as he was never given a ranking in the class of 2023 by 247Sports, ESPN or Rivals. He is the No. 73 running back in the country, per On3.
Haynes is listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds. He attended Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama. According to his Clemson bio, Haynes averaged over 10 yards per carry in his final two high school seasons.
Clemson now has two running backs in the class of 2023. Haynes joins 3-star prospect Jarvis Green, who committed to the Tigers earlier this week. Green also signed with Clemson on Wednesday morning.
