Clemson offers recently-decommitted Penn State prospect

Clemson made an intriguing offer in the class of 2023 on Thursday.

The Tigers offered a scholarship to 4-star defensive lineman Tomarrion Parker. The offer was made just 2 days after Parker decided to decommit from Penn State.

Here’s the offer announcement:

Parker is from Phenix City, Alabama — a state where the Tigers have already had a lot of success in this cycle. Clemson has commitments from 5-star Alabama natives Christopher Vizzina and Peter Woods.

He’s the No. 100 overall player and the No. 12 defensive lineman in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 11 player from the state of Alabama.

It’s unclear if Clemson will be able to find a serious foothold in Parker’s recruitment. He’s set to visit Florida in October and has previously visited Michigan State.

Clemson does have 5 commitments from defensive lineman already in its 2023 class. All 5 players, led by Woods, are at least 4-star prospects and in the top 300 of the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Clemson is up to 19 commitments overall. The class ranks No. 8 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
