Clemson on the cusp of Kirk Herbstreit’s early-season College Football Playoff picture

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit revealed his latest top 4 for the College Football Playoff after a wild Week 2.

Herbstreit does not have an ACC team in the top 4, but did include 2 SEC and B1G teams.

Herbstreit has Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, and Michigan as his current top 4 teams to make the College Football Playoff. The two first teams out are USC at No. 5 and Clemson at No. 6.

This would be the fourth time that a conference would have two of its members in the playoff, but it would be the first time that two conferences would have two members in the playoff.

Clemson missed the college football playoff last season for the first time since 2014.

The Tigers are now 2-0 this season. They will host Louisiana Tech in Week 3.
