4-star quarterback prospect Christopher Vizzina has emerged as Clemson’s top quarterback target in the class of 2023.

On Monday, Vizzina acknowledged that reality and seemed to appreciate the Tigers’ commitment to earning his signature.

“I know I’m their guy,” Vizzina said, via On3.com. “They’ve only offered two quarterbacks in the country. That’s me and Arch [Manning]. I know I’m their guy.”

Clemson has reportedly backed off Manning in recent months, with the 5-star prospect expected to focus on Alabama, Texas and Georgia moving forward.

That leaves Vizzina for the Tigers, who would hardly be a consolation prize. He’s the No. 51 overall player in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He could end up as a 5-star prospect late in this cycle.

Vizzina is also receiving interest from other elite programs such as Ohio State, Georgia and Notre Dame. The Buckeyes offered Vizzina over the weekend.

He’s expected to make several visits in the coming months, but there’s no timetable for his commitment.
