Clemson signed a talented class of high school recruits for the 2024 cycle, but one recruit stands out amongst the rest according to ESPN.

Clemson signee TJ Moore made ESPN’s list of “freshmen to know” for the 2024 season, which was published on Thursday morning. Moore was the only freshman from an ACC program to make the cut.

Moore was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2024. He is the No. 89 overall player and the No. 18 wide receiver in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Moore brings high-level prospect pedigree and is walking into a wide receiver room at Clemson that is in need of impactful contributors.

Here’s some analysis on Moore and his opportunity in 2024 at Clemson from ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren:

Clemson’s leading receiver this season was Tyler Brown, who was a freshman, and the leader in touchdown receptions was tight end Jake Briningstool. There wasn’t much production behind them, though, and the team ranked 61st in receiving yards per game among all FBS teams with just 228.4 yards, and No. 70 in receiving touchdowns. Moore is a welcome addition in this class, as is receiver Bryant Wesco, who could be included on this list as well. Moore had 1,272 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns as a senior in high school.

As VanHaaren notes, Moore isn’t the only blue-chip wide receiver Clemson has signed in this class. The Tigers also beat out multiple top programs for 5-star receiver Bryant Wesco.

The receiver position figures to be a strength for Clemson next season for the first time in at least a few years. Brown is set to return, as is Antonio Williams, who had a tremendous freshman season in 2022 but was limited to just five games a year ago. Adam Randall is also expected to have a bigger role next season.

Clemson signed 22 players overall during the Early Signing Period. The Tigers’ class ranks No. 12 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
