Clemson shuts out South Carolina, finishes regular season on 5-game winning streak
Clemson defeated rival South Carolina 30-0 on Saturday night, putting a positive cap on what has been a frustrating regular season for the Tigers.
Clemson lost three games early in the season, but has rallied to win five consecutive contests down the stretch. The Tigers have now won seven straight games vs. the Gamecocks.

Will Shipley, Kobe Pryor and Phil Mafah each ran for a touchdown in the win. Shipley led the way with 128 yards on 19 carries.
Clemson’s defense was suffocating on the ground and through the air. South Carolina managed just 163 passing yards and 2 interceptions between Zeb Noland and Jason Brown. Neither quarterback completed more than 50 percent of their passes. South Carolina’s leading rusher was Zaquandre White, who managed just 22 yards on 7 carries.
Clemson’s streak of six straight ACC titles did come to an end this weekend as NC State and Wake Forest both picked up victories. The Demon Deacons finished the year with a 7-1 conference record and will represent the Atlantic vs. Pitt in next week’s ACC Championship game.
The Tigers will now await a bowl assignment. A win would extend their streak of 10-win seasons, which has been ongoing since 2011.
