Clemson will be shorthanded defensively on Saturday night vs. Louisiana Tech.

The program released its availability report shortly before kickoff and it includes 4 defensive starters: Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee, safety Andrew Mukuba, defensive tackle Tyler Davis and cornerback Nate Wiggins.

Bresee’s absence was widely expected. He lost his younger sister, Ella, to a fight with brain cancer earlier this week. He is back with his family in Maryland.

Davis has also been dealing with an injury and didn’t play last week vs. Furman, either. However, he’s not expected to be out longterm.

Mukuba and Wiggins are 2 critical members of Clemson’s secondary. Mukuba is an All-ACC candidate at safety while Wiggins is in his first year as one of Clemson’s starting cornerbacks.

According to a report from Rivals, Mukuba suffered an injury in practice this week. Wiggins’ injury outlook is not yet known.

Clemson is also still without starting defensive end Xavier Thomas, who suffered a foot injury in the spring.

Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
