Clemson is trending in the right direction for 3-star athlete Khalil Barnes.

The Tigers have received multiple 247Sports Crystal Ball projections for Barnes in recent days. 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong and Clemson247’s Anna Adams have both picked Barnes to choose the Tigers.

Barnes’ recruitment has exploded in recent weeks, as he’s picked up offers from programs like Notre Dame and Oklahoma since the start of October.

The Tigers offered Barnes a scholarship back on Sept. 22 when he was still committed to Wake Forest. He backed off from that pledge to the Demon Deacons shortly after receiving an offer from Clemson.

Barnes visited Clemson this week and could be back for another visit before the end of the season. He attends North Oconee High School in Bogart, Georgia.

The Georgia native is listed as an athlete, but Clemson appears to be recruiting him on the defensive side of the ball. Co-defensive coordinators Wes Goodwin and Mickey Conn are heading up his recruitment.

He’s ranked as the No. 78 athlete in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
