Clemson defensive lineman Bryan Bresee returned to campus on Monday following the death of his younger sister, Ella, last week.

Bresee had been with his family in Maryland and missed the Tigers’ 48-20 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Bresee and numerous Clemson teammates will travel back to Maryland for Ella’s funeral. According to quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, coach Dabo Swinney adjusted this week’s practice schedule to allow for the trip. The Tigers will practice later in the day on Tuesday.

Speaking with reporters, Uiagalelei expressed his appreciation for the ability to attend the funeral.

“I’m happy that coach Swinney is letting some of the players [go],” Uiagalelei said. “He moved practice back and let us be able to come up there to the funeral. I really appreciate coach Swinney for that.”

According to the Associated Press, up to 40 players and staffers will make the trip to Maryland for Ella Bresee’s funeral.

Clemson is scheduled to face Wake Forest on Saturday.
