Dabo Swinney has seen plenty of growth from Cade Klubnik since he became Clemson’s starting quarterback.
Swinney spoke at Thursday’s Gator Bowl presser ahead of kickoff with Kentucky. Klubnik has shown a lot of improvement compared to 2022. Swinney believes that the physical side is next in Klubnik’s progression.
“The game has slowed down for him. Especially over the last month of the season,” said Swinney. “He’s still got a whole ‘nother level of physical development … but he’s battled-tested. Much more than he was at this time last year.”
Klubnik has accounted for 2,580 y
ards passing and 23 touchdowns heading into the Gator Bowl.
It has been over a decade since Clemson and Kentucky last met in football. They played each other in the 2009 Music City Bowl last. A 9th win is on the line for Clemson as it looks to end the 2023 campaign on a high note.
Kickoff will be Friday at noon ET on ESPN.
