Dabo Swinney gives perfect quote when asked about his interest level in first CFP rankings

Dabo Swinney is not very interested in where Clemson is ranked in the initial release of the College Football Playoff rankings.

When the rankings are released Tuesday evening, Clemson will likely be competing for one of the top four spots. Clemson might be on the outside looking in for the first rankings, but that could change as the season continues on.

Regardless of where Clemson is ranked, Swinney is more concerned about winning games. Swinney was asked about what tonight’s rankings will mean to him.

“Very little… it just doesn’t matter. It would be high interest if I was finding out where we were going,” Swinney said. “They may come out tonight and say we’re the No. 1 team in America. They’re not going to give you a trophy for that.”

With an 8-0 record, Clemson is in the middle of the Playoff race and will likely remain in contention until the end of the season.

In Week 10, No. 5 Clemson will have a difficult road test against Notre Dame. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
