Dabo Swinney on matchup with FSU: 'This is Clemson-Florida State at its best'
Dabo Swinney discussed the upcoming matchup with Florida State at Tuesday’s presser. Clemson welcomes No. 4 Florida State to Death Valley in Week 4.
Swinney believes that the game will feature both programs at their best on Saturday. He understands that Florida State is one of the best teams in the conference, if not the country.
“This is Clemson-Florida State at its best. This is a great football team we’re getting ready to play,” said Swinney. “Mike Norvell’s done a great job in really building their program and putting it back together. It’s one thing to have good players, it’s another to get them play hard, together, and with the right character and attitude.”
The Tigers have had the edge in the series in the last decade when facing the Seminoles. Clemson has won seven games in a row against Florida State.
Swinney and company beat Mike Norvell by a score of 34-28 in a close game in Tallahassee last season.
Clemson could get back on track with a win in the matchup. The Tigers are 2-1 (0-1) with their only loss coming from Duke in the season opener.
Swinney’s team left Durham with a 28-7 loss. Another ACC test awaits the Tigers on Saturday.
Kickoff will be at Noon ET on ABC.
