It has been a disappointing start to the season for the Clemson Tigers, as they entered the game against Syracuse at 2-2. However, the Tigers put together their best performance of the season, as they took care of the Orange, 31-14.

Quarterback Cade Klubnik had a big game throwing, as he threw for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns. His favorite target by far on Sunday was freshman Tyler Brown, who had 9 catches for 153 yards.

On Sunday, coach Dabo Swinney was very complementary of his wide receiver, saying he is as good of freshman as they have had at Clemson.

“Most consistent, steady freshmen we’ve had,” Swinney said on his weekly teleconference call. “Been fun to watch him blossom and glad he’s just a freshman. He’s gonna be around here a while.”

Entering the game on Saturday, Brown had only 7 catches in his first 3 games. However, he started to show some potential in the game against Florida State, when he had 5 catches for 84 yards. He did have 2 touchdowns in a win against Florida Atlantic earlier in the season.

He was the No. 10 player from the state of South Carolina, per 247Sports Composite rankings in the class of 2023. He was a late commit to the Tigers last season.

Clemson will be back in action next Saturday as the Tigers host Wake Forest. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm ET and the game will be aired on the ACC Network.
